Mornings, mornings tend to be one of the hardest times for some chronic warriors. The struggle with not sleeping well, due to flare ups and the pain and stiffness that makes rolling over nearly impossible is enough to make you just not even attempt to crawl out of bed.
Not to mention the guilt of staying in bed. There is so much to do, you know that but your body just Doesn't seem to care. Trust me, the struggle is real. So is there a way to make mornings a little easier? Read on to see if any of these tips might help you.
Keep water, a small snack and medications/supplements by the bed. That way if you can’t get up or it is taking too long to get your body in gear you can get meds in your system and start easing pain.
I know the last thing you want to do is get up earlier. But, by setting your alarm a little earlier you can allow yourself more time to wake up and get moving. Give yourself grace to take the time it needs.
Do a body check, see what is stiff and sore and try to do some gentle stretching in bed. Often times I find a full body stretch feels amazing and slowly gets my body moving.
When getting up, do it slowly and gently. I have found the best way is to roll over to a fetal position, lay there a min and then gently roll up, sit on the edge of the bed for a little and then put your feet on the floor.
I hope this makes your morning just a little less painful and a little easier to get moving. I love connecting with other warriors so be sure and follow me on facebook.
